Screen Memories

Some of you may know me from my byline in “UFO Magazine.” I’ve worked there off and on since 1989, which is frighteningly close to twenty years. My own favorites among my articles usually have to do with alien abduction and its numerous consequences. The subject has totally absorbed me since I read Whitley Strieber’s “Communion” that same watershed, for me, year of 1989.
My first reaction to Whitley’s story was to recognize the fact that so many of the same sorts of paranormal events had happened to me since childhood, through adolescence and into adulthood. However, I also realized that I had absolutely no memories of Grays, Nordics, Reptilians or any other physical embodiments of alien life.
What
I did have was what Budd Hopkins called “screen memories,” images
implanted by the aliens and intended to block out the traumatic medical
procedures, the harvesting of sperm, etc.
