UFO sighting captured by Newbury Today photographer hovering over new Theale development

After increasing numbers of recent UFO reports, one of NASA’s own astronauts claiming little green men exist and bookies dropping the odds on Gordon Brown announcing alien life, it seems West Berkshire may have had an extra terrestrial visit of its own.

Chief photographer for the Newbury Weekly News, Geoff Fletcher, was sent out on a job in Calcot to snap a picture of a new development but came back with a photograph of an unexplained flying object.

His two subjects posed for the camera but so did the glowing ball of light hovering in the sky beyond their heads which, according to Photographer Fletcher, was there one second and gone the next.

The photograph was taken facing south at 6.30pm yesterday evening (Tuesday) and Mr.  Fletcher is convinced that the ball of light is not the earth’s sun because it is in the wrong place for the time of day.

He said he was sure that it wasn't a defect with the camera or dust on the lens because the bright white light did not appear in other photo's taken immediately after.

Our photographer said he does not believe in UFOs but could offer no explanation for the strange bright object.

Like 2 months ago (19th or 20th June) I shot some random pictures out of my window of the night sky.

After downloading it to the pc I noticed some strange/weird line at the upper left corner. I still can’t figure out what it is (I’m a physics student), so here you are.

I did not see the line with my own eyes, just with the camera. I can’t remember if i did not look hard enough or if it just was not visible.

It’s on three pictures: 59, 60 and 62. Picture 61 doesn’t show the area in which the line is or would have been located. But 58 and 57 does show the area, without the line.

If you try to get the position of the line by comparing it to the position of two stars right to the line you will notice that it’s moving downwards with increasing picture number. Picture 62 was the last one, so I don’t know clearly how long it was 'visible'.

I can’t remember the time between the pictures, but it could be something between 7 and 40 seconds each, which means that it would have been at the sky 28 seconds unto 160 seconds.  So it’s definitely no meteor or something.

Picture of a cigar shaped object above the Goodyear blimp

On Monday, August 25, 2008 I was driving eastbound on Third Street in Williamsport PA when I took two pictures while driving with my LG EnV2 2.0 mega pixel camera phone of the Goodyear blimp. After reviewing the pictures later that day I noticed an object on the second picture of a cigar shaped object above the Goodyear blimp.

The day was clear and sunning without a visible cloud ceiling at 12:15 hrs EST. I was driving approximately 10-15 mph near the Rite Aid at 1913 E. 3rd Street in Williamsport in Loyalsock Twp. I noticed the Goodyear blimp off to my right and decided to take a picture of it since it was flying around Williamsport after the Little League World series games.

A minute later the blimp was directly in front of me when I decided to take the second picture. I held the phone camera with both hands and braced both arms against the steering wheel to stabilize the picture and snapped it.

After returning from the trip, I reviewed the pictures taken and noticed an object to be cigar shaped above the blimp at a 1 o’clock position when the picture was zoomed in on the blimp.

Reported:  2008-08-27 Sighted:  2008-08-05 – SEDONA, ARIZONA

I ran this one last week except that the picture he presented then was a picture of the photo and not the original.  Now we have the original.

While on vacation in Sedona, Arizona I had my Sony Cybershot on auto focus and auto flash. While starring at the small screen on the camera I noticed a flash at about the same time my camera flashed (if it did), like a secondary flash or something.  I didn’t give it more than 2 seconds thought until days later when I was showing pictures on a 61" HDTV screen.  I’ve shown it to a couple of people in the photo industry and have been told "solar flare" and "never had seen anything like it”.  If anyone has an idea I would like to hear it.  Email me at: kdeem2323@cox.net Karim

Long Description of Sighting Report I often use the WWT to cruise the stars and get an idea of locations of certain Hubble Space Telescope pictures that I find interesting. However, the night of the 15th was quite different. You can turn the sky in the WWT. I had moved my position to the far back of my field of view. I was moving in to view a Nebula I had seen many times on Hubble Telescope. However, I saw two blue dots, which should not have been there. Upon zooming in on these objects, they were unlike any celestial body I have ever seen. I have been trying my best to get an explanation of them. I zoomed in on great detail to see energy waves being pulled back down into them by gravity. They are like layers of glass, on top of each other. They are circular and immense in size. They have markings and what appears like energy fields around one of them. However, the other one looks darker, no energy fields around it, and the center looks as though it had been quite damaged. Almost like the 'energetic ship' is coming to help (you can make your own conclusion). There are either markings or levels. It is obvious the objects are not natural by any means. I have 100 photos of the two objects; I will post as many as I can. If anyone has idea what this is or could be, please contact me.

This one is 2-months old now.  I somehow missed it.

My mate Dren had recorded this video last Sunday about 1430hrs, and we don't have a clue what that thing is. It was rotating as well, so I'm sure it's not a plane, and it's pretty big as well.

Orange orbs forming triangular shapes moving slowly around the sky, stayed in one place for the most part

Hi, I live in Orange Connecticut, last weekend Saturday 8/16/08 at sunset me and 4 friends were at Fort Trumbull Silver Sands State Park in Milford, Connecticut and we saw what we believe to be a UFO. The first sighting, all 5 of us can confirm what we had seen that night, we didn’t manage to get any good photos, no one had a digital camera, but we did capture one blurry cell phone picture. What we had witnessed was a series of orange lights right off the coast of Milford, Connecticut forming perfectly symmetrical triangles as well as other patterns. They definitely were not boats or planes or even helicopters with the way they just seemed to slowly drift around each other while pretty much staying in the same place in the sky no more than a few hundred feet up as well as fade away and re appear, even forming into one ball of light and splitting right back up again. Needless to say we were all mildly “freaked out” but we sat there on a rock pier for about 2 hours mesmerized by these orbs before they began to just fade out and disappear without seeming to travel any farther away. Now this past Saturday 8/23/08 at about the same time as before two friends and I were driving around by the beach in Stratford, Connecticut right near the Lordship airport and sure enough, my friend in the back seat of the car yells to stop the car! And of course what could it be? The same orbs all over again, only this time we had a digital camera.  So we hurried the camera out of the bag, set it up and took as many pictures as we could before we gave up watching it seeing as how there really wasn’t much we could do, news organizations I’m sure paid no attention to our claims. We used different exposure times and zooms just to capture it from as many angles as possible, one of the pictures being so well zoomed you can see each individual orb seems to form a smaller triangular shape. And strangely enough a co-worker of mine happened to have seen the same lights this past Saturday at walnut beach, another small beach in Milford, Connecticut within walking distance of Charles Island.
So to be honest I’m not sure what any of us saw but we know it wasn't normal. beach right next to

Reported:  2008-08-25 Sighted:  2008-08-19 – KINGSBURG, NOVA SCOTIA - CANADA
NOT THE SUN, possibly a trawler’s light

We were vacationing in Kingsburg, NS, Canada at a very remote cottage (44°17'6.32"N, 64°14'33.67"W) overlooking the Atlantic. We had many friends over watching the night sky looking S. The ocean horizon was barely visible (we estimate 25miles out) when a very bright orange sphere appeared above the horizon. We debated as to whether it was distant trawlers main flood lights, or something else. 

I do have a Canon Rebel Digital SLR EOS with 300mm lens attached. Shooting multiple long exposures (4-5sec) at ISO 1600 onto RAW format I captured the object multiple times stationary aver ~ 20 minutes. Object can be seen in front of distant clouds on the horizon. No boat/trawlers show on the exposures, however above clouds do seem to reflect glow somewhat. Focus was set manually. First shots were jittery due to handheld shots, however later shots were propped on a solid surface.

Object eventually dimmed to nothing and later came back again and then it dimmed again.

I did not get the impression that this was one of the large vessels from Lunenburg at all. Next night we saw a large fishing boat with normal running lights on - clearly showing a boat outline. In fact the lights from other vessels (rare at that time of night) are incredibly dim from our vantage and the fog was not at factor either.

This large light was intense and powerful orange.

I had gone out shortly after a storm to photograph a beautiful rainbow. It was about 7:43 PM on August 21, 2008. It was very overcast so I came home after shooting 40 frames.  After I shot the 40 frame series of photographs and while looking through them later I noticed an object in the sky in one of my shots. I am attaching the original photograph and a tightly cropped image of what I saw in the picture. Also I am including an original photo shot from the exact location of the one in which the object showed up. I am not sure of what it is but it looks like a UFO to me. Reported:  2008-08-22 Sighted: 2008-08-06 – PORTLAND, OREGON
Most are screaming hoax on this one. 

Something seems to be hovering over downtown and then takes off over the city.

My friend was visiting me in Portland a few weeks ago from Germany and he was taking some video of downtown Portland while sightseeing in the aerial tram. About a week later he was watching the footage after uploading it on his computer and he noticed something hovering over the city like a helicopter but then take off at a speed and angle that we don't think could possibly be a helicopter or plane. We have no idea what it was or even if perhaps it was a reflection or something but it sure looks like something that was flying over the city. Anyway I've never done anything like this but figured I would look around online and now I'm interested in seeing what an expert might think. The incident happened on August 6th at around noon and like I said he was in the Portland aerial tram looking down over downtown. As for witnesses there were others in the tram but no one saw anything or had any reaction at the time. If you listen to the video you can kind of hear a kid reacting to something but who knows if it is related. It was a cloudy day as well. We posted the video to YouTube to see if anyone else saw anything that day so the link is below so you can see the footage. I will attach the video to this as well. Curious what your thoughts are!

Helicopter with orbs or disc's around it.

I was sitting in my family room doing some work on my computer when I heard a low flying helicopter. It sounded pretty low so I grabbed my digital camera to take some pictures of it. I took several pictures of the helicopter as it was flying a bit erratic, and only about 300-500 feet elevation. I figured they may be looking for someone on foot or a vehicle. I did not notice any other objects in the sky when I was taking the pictures. Later when I was showing my wife the pictures she noticed when we zoomed in on the helicopter, in every picture there was an object either around the helicopter or the helicopter facing the direction of the object(s). On one photo I was able to zoom in and see "Police" on the side of the helicopter. Don't know what these were but thought I would let you take a look.

Sphere sighted from airliner.

I was sitting in seat 1A on a flight from Wichita, KS to Memphis, TN. The plane was a Canadair Regional Jet, entering the landing pattern in Memphis airspace. We were west of the Mississippi River, in the general area of West Memphis, Arkansas. I noticed a bright light from ahead of the plane at about the 11 o’clock position. I could not tell what it was, but it looked as if it was reflecting the sunlight from a highly polished surface. It did not seem to be moving, but I did not see it for any length of time. I keep my digital camera with me when I fly because some of the best things I have seen were from the window of an airliner. I tried to zoom in on the object, but could not find it in my screen, so I backed out the zoom fully and took the picture. The plane then banked left to its final approach to Memphis from the south, and I lost sight of it. When I got home, I checked the picture on my computer and it is there, but the reflection is very diminished. From the picture, it looks like the object is on the Arkansas side of the river, across from Tunica, MS. I know the area somewhat, and am not familiar with any building which would have this appearance, since the object appears to be below the horizon in the picture. If you zoom into the picture, look on the right side, about halfway down. Unfortunately, the weather did not allow for the horizon to be distinguishable, so I can not tell an accurate size or distance.

 Multi-colored UFO or a star?

I walked outside and saw a super bright object in the sky. It was not moving, and pretty far away.  The video was taken with a Canon L2 Pro Camcorder (HI-8) with a 15 x zoom lens.  I don't know what it was. It seemed to glow with every color in the rainbow. Pause the screen, and you will know what I am talking about. I recently got this camera, so I am not good with it yet. (lots of buttons, etc).

It disappeared as the sun was coming up. So I think it was a star. Although there were several stars in the horizon, this one was something that gave off a great amount of brilliance.  Can someone tell me what it may be?

I was driving down the road when I saw 2 very bright lights over a pond

I was driving down the road when out of the corner of my eye I saw 2 very bright lights in the sky not too high above the water of the pond. I pulled over to view and got out of my car after seeing that they did not disappear right away. One of them either flew away very quickly or disappeared while the other came closer to me it appeared to be a rainbow of very bright lights around a disk. It blinded me as if I stared into headlights then by the time I regained my sight it had vanished. I had observed it for about 5 minutes before it left. The next night I returned with my friend and a high quality video camera and again at exactly 10:00 it returned this time by its self. This time it was a little farther from the shore. The object zig zagged right, left up and down very quickly changing directions. My camera was set to night vision on a tripod with a slower shutter speed. I captured it both in night vision and in normal capture mode. The camera with its slow shutter was unable to capture its very fast jerky style movement that was visible by the naked eye but some was seen on tape. It disappeared only to reappear in the same spot about 15 minutes later. Each time it would stay for about 5-8 minutes. It would hover in the same exact area each time. At least once it appeared to shoot a quick beam of light almost appearing like lighting in sky and light up the ground around it. I have seen this object in the large field in back of my house (miles away from the pond) for the past couple weeks now. At the pond down the road is where the closest sightings happened on 2 occasions. You can tell it’s NOT a normal airplane. There is no noise, the light is VERY intense and it changes direction at a very fast rate. There are no blinking lights like you see on the wings of an airplane. There also appeared to be at least one or two smaller craft that came out of the larger one and after exiting they flew in opposite directions of each other. We also have audio that appears to sound like some other creature speaking but we are not sure it could be some animal. We herd the voices and captured it on video after the ship had passed over us. I have VERY good video of the incident however the camera did not capture the rainbow light but instead captured a very bright whitish blue color.

The reason I am reporting it to you is I did a Google search and found your CT Mutual UFO network just now and the picture of the rainbow lights that was also taken in CT. IT IS THE SAME SHIP THAT WE SAW!! I have a feeling this UFO can be further captured at around the same time if you wish to visit the area soon with higher quality video equipment. I live in the country; I am a 26 year old male. My friend was also witness with me on the second night when we came prepared with a camera. The object appears over a pond and the light is close enough to reflect off the water. It hovers between the pond and a large set of woods. Please let me know if you can help to capture this object as it is seem all the time in the hours between 9 and 11:30. Sometimes there are a couple of them and they appear about 20 feet apart. I am going to try and upload some of the video soon.

Pulsing like a heart beat through the air

I was taking survey pictures of the land around my house and this disc thing, though only for a few seconds was up and around my neighbor’s orchard. I took a picture when it was about 600 yards in the air above an irrigation ditch. I thought was a bird diving down, then it went back up and around then down and it looked like a metal alloyed like silicon. I felt almost hypnotized.

August 12, 2008 - At 09:35, on a series of 17 photographs, only one showed these two objects. I specify that this is obviously not the sun! My camera was a Canon EOS 400D of 10 pixels million 1/640 - F5,6 - 100 ISO - manually.
